Over at Hub Pages I have a Hub called The Top 18 Latin Beauties.
I recently redid the Top 18 list and was pretty surprised to see the gorgeous Dulce Maria jump all the way up from 18 last time to the number 1 spot.
Well okay, maybe not amazed.
I mean look at her.
I'd put her up against any of the current Hollywood beauties easily.
Though I do prefer the red hair to the brunette.

Dulce is a Mexican actress, singer, and songwriter that has appeared in over 24 telenovelas and TV shows since her debut in 1993 at the age of eight.
Of course one of her big claims to fame was appearing in Rebelde as Roberta Pardo Rey.
She also has a music career and recently released two albums, Extranjera Primera Parte (November 9, 2010) and Extranjera Segunda Parte (Jun 14, 2011).

Penelope Menchaca

Mexican television host and actress Penelope Menchaca was born on September 6th 1968 in Ciudad de México, Mexico.
Being the daughter of the director of The National Mexican Ballet Folklorica (Dolores Menchaca), Penelope naturally started out as a ballerina.
She then went on to join the singing group "Las Nenas" at the age of nineteen, where she was their lead singer for over ten years.
In 1999, Penelope and her two daughters moved to Los Angeles in 1999, and she became the host of Los Angeles en Vivo on KRCA Channel 62.
In 2004 she moved on to the TV show 12 Corazones (12 Hearts) a Spanish-language dating game TV show that's produced in the United States and airs on Telemundo .
In August 2009, 12 Corazones: Rumbo al Altar, a spin off of 12 Corazone started, with Penelope as the host. This show has six couples competing to win the grand prize of a dream wedding.
She has appeared on eighteen different TV shows and series since 1998.
In 2010, Penelope became an author when she released the book "El Arte Del Cuchiplancheo" ("The Art of the Horizontal Dance").
In August of 2011 Penelope was picked to be the host of "Minute To Win It" on Televisa.

Jacqueline Bracamontes Got Married!

On September 10th, 2011, former Nuestra Belleza (Our Beauty Mexico), actress and model Jacqueline Bracamontes and Mexican business man Martin Fuentes got married in a civil ceremony.
The two will be married in a religious ceremony in her native Guadalajara, Jalisco, on October 1st, 2011.

Jacqueline is the star of TV shows, telenovelas and movies like Rubí (as Maribel de la Fuente), Teletón (as a Hostess), La Fea Más Bella (that later became our "Ugly Betty"), Sortilegio (in dual roles as Maria Jose Samaniego and Sandra Miranda Betancourt) and many others.

She has been romanically linked to Fernando Schoenwald and Cuban actor William Levy in the past.

Brazilian Model Jeisa Chiminazzo

Brazilian model Jeísa Chiminazzo was born on April 12th, 1985 in Muçum, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Although she was born in Brazil, her parents are of Italian and German descent.
Jeísa was discovered at the age of thirteen by a Brazilian actor who refered her to a modeling agency.
She spent one year doing local modeling jobs, then her career took off when she signed with IMG Models in New York and began appearing in the Italian editions of fashion magazines like Elle and Marie Claire.
This five foot nine and a half inch tall beauty is probably most famous here in the US for being featured in the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and doing runway walks at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Thought not yet in the same catagory as some of the more famous Brazilian supermodels (like Adriana Lima, Gisele Bündchen or Alessandra Ambrosio), Jeisa is considered one of the top runway models of today.

Feiticeira - Joana Mortimer Prado

Her name is Joana Mortimer Prado but you may know her better as Feiticeira (which means sorceress or witch)
Joana rose to fame as Feiticeira on the Brazilian TV show "H".
H became a huge hit in Brazil mainly because of Feiticeira and Suzana Ferreira Alves (Tiazinha).
Feiticeira's segmet of H was a game show and she dressed up kinda like Jeannie from the old "I Dream of Jeannie" TV show.
Only men were allowed to participate on the game show part and if they answered a question wrong, they got humiliated by Feiticeira.
With our huge love of reality based shows in the US, why hasn't this caught on here?

Joana is married to Brazilian MMA fighter Vitor Belfort and they have three children, Davi, Victoria and Kyara.

Beautiful Brazilian comedian Sabrina Sato (Sabrina Sato Rahal) was born on February 4th, 1981, in Penápolis, São Paulo, Brazil.
Sabrina gets her exotic looks from her Japanese, Swiss and Lebanese background.
She is only one of two people (the other being Grazielli Massafera) that have come out of Big Brother Brasil and went on to become celebrities.
Sabrina finished her sixth on her stint on Big Brother Brasil and joined the comedy troupe Pânico.
The troupe got their own TV show (Pânico na TV) and Sabrina became their reporter and engaged in several "Fear Factor" type stunts.
To everyone's surprise, she announced she was leaving Pânico na TV and released a single É Verdade.
But all this was a publicity stunt, and Sabrina soon returned to Pânico na TV.
Besides Big Brother Brasil and Pânico na TV, Sabrina has appeared on A Cartomante, Porto dos Milagres and O Amor Não Presta.
Sabrina was all over the Brazilian papers because of her appearance at Carnaval in 2011 where she sang and danced ahead of the drummers from the school of samba da Feel Gavio.

Maya could create a fast-acting and fatal poison in anyone near her when she got emotional.
So I guess that made her the "Anti-Emo".

Maya learned to control her ability with the help of Sylar, but then that was rendered pointless when Arthur Petrelli relieved her of her burden.

The actress that played Maya was Dania Ramirez.
Dania was born on November 8th, 1979 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Maya wasn't her only super powered role.
She was a potential slayer (Caridad) in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and she played Callisto in "X-Men: The Last Stand".

Cote de Pablo - Ziva David - NCIS

Chilean-American actress and recording artist Cote de Pablo plays Israeli Mossad Liaison Officer Ziva David on the CBS drama NCIS.

A Chilean born actress playing an Israeli character on an American show.

Who says TV isn't diverse?

Cote's character on NCIS is amazing.
Ziva was introduced to the series in the third season premiere, and became a regular cast member in the episode "Silver War".
I like Ziva because even though this lady could be portrayed as a killing machine, they give her very human weaknesses.
Like the fact that Ziva can speak at least seven languages fluently, but has trouble with American slang.
And of course Ziva's running battles with Tony DiNozzo help make the show.
And even though CBS lists the show as Drama, Ziva and Tony help to make it one of the funniest shows on TV.
To me at least.

This entry was originally called "Sarah Shahi - Dani Reese - Life" because I wrote it back when the lovely Sarah Shahi played Dani Reese on one of my favorite TV shows, NBC's Life.
Now she is starring as Kate Reed in the 2011 legal drama Fairly Legal on USA.
Sarah is a Spanish-Iranian actress and model who was born Aahoo (gazelle) Shahi on January 10, 1980 in Euless, Texas.
Besides being an actress and model, Sarah was on the 1999–2000 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad and was on the cover of their 2000 calendar.
Before playing Kate Reed (and Dani Reese), she was in a ton of TV series and movies.
Among them were ER, Supernatural, Reba, The L Word, Alias, Damages, Rush Hour 3, Frasier, Century City and The Sopranos.

Monica Raymund - Ria Torres - Lie to Me

On Fox TV's "Lie To Me", Kelli Williams character Dr. Gillian Foster has learned how to read facial expressions, but Ria Torres, is a "natural" at deception detection.
Ria was a Transportation Security Administration agent that Dr.Lightman (Tim Roth) ran into and almost immediately saw that she had her natural ability.
Sounds almost "X-Men" doesn't it?
Even though Ria has raw talent, it hasn't been honed yet and she sometimes lets her emotions cloud her judgment.

She attended the Juilliard School in New York City, participated in the "Broadway Theater Project in Tampa and attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem (my old home state!).
Besides "Lie to Me" she has appeared in the 2007 movie Fighter and an episode of "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit".

Alicia Machado In The News

Alicia Machado knows how to keep in the limelight.
After making her second appearance in Playboy, the former Miss Universe of 1996 trashed the press saying...
"Many of the entertainment reporters that attack and make up stories are frustrated artists, homosexuals or lesbians that don't accept themselves and earn almost nothing. They have no ethics as journalists or even human beings."

In response to that, actress Carmen Salinas said Alicia was ungrateful and maybe she should go back home to Venezuela.

Also, Alicia is appearing in the play "Scorpions" along with Latin Lover, Gabriel Soto and Lorena Herrera.

According to the press, Alicia and Lorena are not getting along very well.
Since Scorpions is about boxing, maybe Alicia and Lorena could climb in the ring to settle their differences.
I bet that would sell some tickets.

Alicia Machado in Playboy Again

Early in her career, former Miss Universe Alicia Machado said she would never pose nude.
Well that didn't last long, because in 2006, Alicia appeared on the cover (and inside) the February 2006 issue of Playboy's Mexican edition, becoming the only Miss Universe to pose nude for Playboy.
So now four years later, Alicia is doing it again.
At 33 years of age, Alicia said it was an honor to be asked to pose again.
She'll be in the July issue, and the photo shoot was done by photographer Uriel Santana who has done photo shoots of other Latin beauties like Barbara Mori and Ana Serradilla.

Spanish Actress Paz Vega

Beautiful Spanish actress Paz Vega was born Paz Campos Trigo on January 2, 1976 in Seville, Spain.
Paz's mother is a homemaker, and her father is a retired bullfighter.
The acting bug bit Paz at the age of 15 when she saw a performance of Federico García Lorca's La casa de Bernarda Alba.
After she graduated high school, she was accepted into the Centro Andaluz de Teatro stage school, and after two years at the school and two more years studying journalism, Paz moved to Madrid.

She made her television debut in the Spanish television series, Menudo es mi padre and went on to the telenovela Más que amigos, where she appeared as Olga in 28 episodes.
Paz went on to appear in twelve TV series, including the one that brought her the most popularity in Spain, 1999's 7 Vidas, which was kind of a Spanish version of Friends.

She became famous in the US when she starred in the 2004 comedy/drama Spanglish, alongside Adam Sandler and Téa Leoni.
After that, Paz appeared in 10 Items or Less with Morgan Freeman, Fade to Black (2006) and a film that should have been much better than it was, The Spirit (2008).

In The Spirit, Paz was the beautiful (but very deadly) Plaster of Paris.

Paz appeared in four movies in 2009, and has six films currently in the works.

That's pretty good considering that Paz and her husband, Orson Salazar have two kids, and they announced in March 2010 that a third is on the way.

Ninel Conde Updates

Mexican actress, model, and Latin Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Ninel Conde who plays Catalina Mijares/Coral on the Mexican telenovela Már de Amor (Sea of Love), is not getting along very well with one of her co-stars, Mario Cimarro who plays Víctor Manuel Galíndez on the show.
There was a video released recently that showed Mario making obscene gestures at her with his hands.
So I guess they really don't get along huh?

And Ninel recently stated that she and her husband (and manager Juan Zepeda) are not getting divorced.
She said they have bad patches like any other couple, but this isnt the end for them.
They have been married since December 9, 2007.

And Ninel has released a single, "Mujeriego" and a music video (with Mexican soap opera actor Eduardo Yáñez) from her third album Libre has also been released.

Ivy Queen
Puerto Rican-American Latin Grammy nominated reggaeton composer and singer Ivy Queen was born on March 4, 1972 in Añasco, Puerto Rico.
Her fans call her "La Reina del Reggaeton" (The Queen of Reggaeton), and she is one of the few female artists in the reggaeton genre.
In case you don't know what Reggaeton is, it is a blend of the West-Indian music influences of reggae and dance hall, with bomba, plena, salsa, merengue, latin pop, cumbia and bachata AND hip hop, contemporary R&B, and electronica.
Ivy has released seven studio albums, one compilation album and has a string of singles since 1999.

Mexican actress and singer/songwriter Maite Perroni was born on March 9, 1983 in Mexico City, Federal District, Mexico.
Maite gained a lot of fame as a member of the Latin pop group RBD and also as actress in Rebelde and Cuidado con el Angel.
She has appeared on five telenovelas ("La energía de Sonric'slandia", "Rebelde", "RBD: La familia", "Cuidado con el ángel" and "Mi pecado"), and will be appearing in the 2010 film, " Cena de matrimonios...".

It's time once again for an entry on the most beautiful Latina actresses on this blog in the last little bit.
Of course everyone has their favorites among the beautiful Latin ladies we have profiled here, but as usual, there are a few surprises.

1. Silvia Gonzalez
This lovely lady was actually kind enough to comment on her blog entry here after I published it, so that put's her way ahead of everyone...LOL
But really, Silvia, you still have a HUGE fan base out there, evidenced by you coming in at number one for the most searched women here last month.
She said in her comments that she had been an Accounting and Finance recruiter and was now working as an Accounting Assistant.
I'm sure her fans are hoping for maybe at least a a small return to modeling....

2. Dulce María
Everone loves fiery redhaired Mexican actress, singer, and songwriter Dulce María enough that she came in at number two.
But from the pictures I have seen lately, sadly, she is no longer a red head.
The former member of RBD will be releasing her first solo album soon.

3. Lucero
Mexican actress and singer Lucero came in at number three.

The last time I did a write up on Nadine Velazquez was back in 2008.
As we all know, "My Name Is Earl" was (sadly) canceled.
But since then Nadine has appeared in the 2009 romantic comedy, All's Faire in Love, the musical crime film, A Day in the Life, an episode of "CSI: NY", an episode of "Gary Unmarried", the FX sitcom about a fantasy football league, "The League" and most recently an episode of "Scrubs".

And of course Nadine was one of the hosts of the Miss USA 2009 pageant and was right there at ground zero when Miss California, Carrie Prejean, gave her infamous answer.

Nadine was named #41 in the annual Maxim Hot 100 2009 list.

Did you know that she was originally cast as Maricruz Delgado (Fernando Sucre's girlfriend) in the Fox series Prison Break?

Maribel Guardia

Costa Rican actress Maribel Guardia was born on May 29, 1959 (yes she is 50 years old!) in (of course) Costa Rica.
In 1978, she won the Miss Costa Rica pageant, and then went on to represent Costa Rica at the Miss World and Miss Universe (she won Miss Photogenic there) contests.
Maribel moved to Mexico in 1980, and she appeared in her first television show that same year, alongside Manuel "El Loco" Valdés.
She has also released several Norteña (also known as norteño or conjunto) music albums.
Since her debut, she has appeared on over fifty TV shows and telenovelas in Mexico.
Maribel lived with Mexican singer and songwriter Joan Sebastian for five years, and together they had one son.
She moved to Miami, Florida in 2009 with her son.
The Mexican Media has deservedly nicknamed her "La Bella", and you have got to admit, this lady looks pretty amazing at 50.
From looking at her pics, I swear this woman has some of the best abs in the business.

Sofía Vergara - Modern Family

I am finally starting to watch the ABC comedy "Modern Family" that has among it's cast members the breath-taking Sofía Vergara.
You know, not only is this woman beautiful, but she can act as well.
She really is a good comedian with excellent comic timing.
On the show she plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, who is married to family patriarch, Jay Pritchett (Married With Children's Ed O'Neil).
Gloria is loving, protective and loyal to her family and down right vicious to anyone that crosses her.
On the show (as well as in real life) Gloria is from Colombia, and there have been a few Colombian crime jokes.
And in real life, there seems to be some tension between Sofia and one of her co-stars, Julie Bowen.

By the way, did you know that Sofia and Shakira are from the same town in Colombia?
Yep, both were born in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Beautiful Brazilian model Raica Oliveira was born on January 22nd, 1984 in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Raica was discovered by the same talent agent that discovered fellow Brazilian model, Gisele Bundchen, Sergio Mattos.
Who is this guy?
After winning the 1999 Elite Model Look contest in Brazil, Raica went to the finals in Nice, France, coming in second. (Vika Sementsova from the Ukraine won that year).
Raica is the best friend of another Brazilian supermodel, Adriana Lima (picture that...)and she once dated Brazilian professional footballer Ronaldo, who also dated another Brazilian model, Daniela Cicarelli.

We had a weather person earlier, so why not a TV reporter?
Carmen Dominicci was born on July 15, 1966 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
She's a model, television reporter and PSA representative.
Carmen started out in TV commercials and beauty pageants in Puerto Rico in the 1980s and represented Puerto Rico in modeling competitions in United States and Europe.
She then started acting in theater and in mini-series which helped to make her famous.
Carmen then left modeling and and acting and started studying journalism.

I think Jackie Guerrido is the first weatherperson I have ever done an entry for on this blog.
Or maybe any other.
But she is certainly deserving of the title "Beautiful Latin Woman".
Jackie was born on September 24, 1970 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
She grew up in San Juan and after graduating high school. she and her family moved to the Bronx in New York City.
Jackie started out on morning radio show called El Vacilon de la Mañana, and moved from there to "Romance 106.7 FM" in Miami.
She went from there to her own music show at Salsa 98.3 FM.
At the same time, Jackie landed a job in television as a traffic reporter for Telemundo Channel, working for both the radio and television.
She got the attention of Univision while there, and they offered her a job as a weatherperson on the TV show Al Amanacer de Noticias 23.
Jackie took a course in meteorology at the University of Miami and the job was hers.
For several years, she was the weatherperson for Despierta America ("Wake Up America") and then she moved on to become the weather reporter on Primer Impacto ("First Impact") with Barbara Bermudo.

Is it just me, or does she kinda look like TNA Knockout Sarita?

It's been awhile since my last entry on Venezuelan actress and fashion model Patricia Velasquez, so here's another.
I've liked her ever since I first saw her in the 1999 film, "The Mummy" as Anck-Su-Namun.
She also appeared in the 2001 sequel, "The Mummy Returns".
Patricia didnt really have a hit after those two films, but she has done a lot of TV including The L Word, Arrested Development and CSI: Miami.
Now she has two projects in the works, "Searching for Ingrid" and "The Operative".

The 5'9 beauty has also founded the Wayúu Tayá Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the Wayúu, a Venezuelan indigenous group.

Sara Maldonado in Capadocia

Sara Maldonado is leaving her "good girl" image behind in the series Capadocia produced by HBO and Mexican Argos.

If you didn't know, Capadocia is set in a women's prison in Mexico City. It's a Spanish-language drama series that spotlights the corruption that runs rampant in the system.

Others that have appeared in Capadocia are Ana de la Reguera, Cristina Umaña, Alejandro Camacho and Dolores Heredia.

Sara will appear in eight episodes of the new season.

Vida is suing a company called Ripe Digital Entertainment, because she says she did an online hosting job for them and was never paid.
She is suing for $13,200 for the job, $396,000 in damages, and the attorney's fees.

Ninel studied at the Centro de Arte y Teatro Emilia Carranza and workshops of Sergio Jiménez and Oscar Pérez. After her studies there, Conde worked on Televisa. She also worked with Televisa's rivaling channel,TV Azteca, on various other projects.
