The actress that played Maya was Dania Ramirez.
Dania was born on November 8th, 1979 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Maya wasn't her only super powered role.
She was a potential slayer (Caridad) in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and she played Callisto in "X-Men: The Last Stand".
Since Heroes, she appeared as Alex on HBO's Entourage.
In 2008, Dania was nominated for an American Latino Media Arts Award (ALMA) Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Television Series for her role in Heroes.
