Alicia Machado

Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo was born December 6, 1976, and is commonly known as Alicia Machado. She was the fourth woman from Venezuela to win the Miss Universe crown. Machado was born in Maracay in the state of Aragua. She is the daughter of a Cuban father and Spanish mother.

Machado won Venezuela's 1995 pageant representing Yaracuy and then the Miss Universe 1996 crown in Las Vegas. The runner-up, Jacqueline Aguilera, also won the Miss World 1995 crown, marking the second time that Venezuela had held the two world titles simultaneously. Machado's reign came as Donald Trump took ownership of the Miss Universe pageant.

During her reign as Miss Universe, Machado made headlines when it was reported that she gained too much weight and the Miss Universe Organization was considering replacing her with her runner-up, Taryn Mansell of Aruba. In the end, Machado managed to shed some of the weight off and retained her title. Donald Trump, however, was less magnanimous. While calling in live on the Howard Stern radio show to promote the 1997 Miss Universe pageant, he called her an "eating machine".

In 1998 Alicia made her debut on the popular Venezuelan soap opera Samantha as the lead role. Following the success of Samantha she was called to start in Infierno en el Paraiso another successful soap opera that made her a well known actress.In 2001 she had a small role on the international successful soap opera Secreto de Amor.During 2004–2005, she pursued a career as a TV commercial model with particular success in promoting a dieting product. In 2005, Machado appeared on a Spanish reality show called La Granja ("The Farm") and caused scandal when she was filmed having sex with another show participant. After the film and photos became public, her then-fiancee, New York Yankees' right fielder Bobby Abreu, broke off their engagement.

On February 19, 2006, Machado debuted on a Mexican reality show named Cantando Por Un Sueño ("Singing For A Dream") a program in the line of the previous Bailando Por Un Sueño ("Dancing For A Dream") in which the winner has the chance for a dream to come true. The show is very similar to Dancing with the Stars (U.S.) and Mira Quién Baila ("Look Who's Dancing") (Spain).

Machado appeared in (and on the cover of) the February 2006 issue of Playboy magazine's Mexican edition, thus becoming the first and only Miss Universe to pose nude for Playboy. She dedicated her photographs to Donald Trump and Shane Filan (former dream lover).

She currently lives in Mexico City. According to People en Español she is five months pregnant and for now unwilling to reveal who the father is.

Alice Braga

Alice Braga was born April 15, 1983 in São Paulo, Brazil. She is a Brazilian actress. She has appeared in several films, most notably as Angélica in 2002's highly acclaimed City of God. In 2007 her first U.S. blockbuster, I Am Legend, was released.

Her exposure to the world of acting came at a very early age. As both her mother and aunt (Sônia Braga) are actresses, Alice often went with the the two to film sets and it didn’t take long for her to develop a love for all things theatrical. She started her career by appearing in school plays and even a few commercials, but it wasn’t until she was a teenager that she began seriously pursuing roles in television and movies.

In 1998, Braga made her debut in a Portuguese-language short called Trampolim, but quickly receded back into anonymity to finish her schooling. Braga's big break came in 2002 after she was cast as Angelica in the critically acclaimed smash City of God, for which she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the Cinema Brazil Grand Prize. She took more time off, and then attended university while making appearances in a pair of well-regarded South American films -- 2005’s Lower City and 2006’s Only God Knows -- and also took on a role on the popular Brazilian television program Carandiru, Outras Historias. Braga made her English-language debut in 2006 with a starring role opposite Brendan Fraser, Mos Def and Catalina Sandino Moreno in Journey to the End of Night, which premiered at the 5th Annual Tribeca Film Festival and eventually went straight to video in North America.

In 2007, Braga was cast in the Will Smith blockbuster I Am Legend, and the drama Crossing Over (which stars Harrison Ford, Sean Penn and Ashley Judd). Additionally, she was cast in the 2008 David Mamet film called Redbelt, in which she appears alongside Tim Allen and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Alana de la Garza

Alana de la Garza (born June 18, 1976) is an American actress. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to a Mexican-American father and an Irish-American mother. She was raised in El Paso, Texas.

She won the "Miss Photogenic" title in the Miss El Paso Teen USA local beauty pageant. She then became a special-needs teacher and enrolled at The University of Texas, studying physical therapy and social work. Upon graduating, she landed some small roles while living in Orlando, Florida, and soon moved to New York City. She obtained the role of Rosa Santos on the soap opera, All My Children, guest-starring roles in JAG, Charmed, Two and a Half Men, and Las Vegas. She starred as Maria in the short-lived television series The Mountain, in which she received high marks for her acting.

In 2005, she starred in the film Mr. Fix-It co-starring David Boreanaz. She also guest-starred as an evil Kryptonian (named "Aethyr" in promotional materials) in the fifth season premiere episode of Smallville and played the recurring role of Marisol Delko on the CBS television series CSI: Miami. She has twice been featured in the "Girls of Maxim" online gallery. In 2006, she joined the cast of NBC's Law & Order during the premiere of the seventeenth-season, portraying Connie Rubirosa.

Adriana Fonseca was born March 16, 1979 in Veracruz, Veracruz. She is a Mexican actress.

She started her acting career performing in a local television show. At the age of 16 she was accepted in C.E.A (Centro de Education Artistica) in Mexico. Winning the award in the competition "El rostro de El Heraldo de Méxco," she participated in the soap opera "La Usurpadora" starring Fernando Colugna and Gabriela Spanic .

Salma Hayek Jiménez (born September 2, 1966) is an Academy Award-, Ariel Award-, Screen Actors Guild Award-, BAFTA Award-, Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated and ALMA Award-winning Mexican-American actress, Daytime Emmy-winning director, and an Emmy-nominated TV and film producer. Lucia Mendez

Lucía Leticia Méndez Pérez was born January 26, 1951 in León, Guanajuato. She is a mexican actress and singer. She is also a famous telenovela star in Mexico, Latin America, USA,Poland, Russia, Asia and Europe.

Méndez began her career in 1972, acting in a movie named Cabalgando bajo la Luna. She acted in her first soap opera, Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse, simultaneously. Subsequently, she was cast on many other soap operas, and by 1978, she was a well known superstar throughout Mexico and the rest of Latin America thanks to her successful soap Viviana. This soap opera took Méndez directly around the world, among the most successful run of her series would be Spain, Italy and France. Méndez playing the underdog in the story with a strong charismatic character. The huge impact she followed with equally-successful, Colorina , would bring her diversified roles for the rest of her career (1980), due to a poor stricken environment she becomes a prostitute and is redeemed by motherhood and finally becomes a recognized designer, alongside Puerto Rican actress, Alba Nydia Díaz.

Méndez continues the streak of success with Vanessa (1982). Suspenseful endings will play a part of the pull audiences have of her stories, Vanessa is no exception to the rule. Not only does she paralyze Mexico with her endings, but the whole world turns to watch her endings. With Vanessa, she becomes the first star to be killed in a nationalized television production. The world would be shocked as the movie transcends borders. She goes on to sing the theme song that will sought after fans, that will never be compiled on her albums. Okay, Joana Benedek was born January 21, 1972 in Bucharest, Romania. But since she is a Mexican actress, I put her in here.

She left Bucharest in search of work, and moved to Venezuela before moving to Mexico. In Caracas she continued to study, but left her studies to work as a model.

In 1997 she signed a contract with a prestigious cosmetics company in New York. During her stay in the city, she decided to study acting in the Academy of Susan Grace.

She was later discovered by a Mexican producer, which began her career as an actress in Mexico.

Jacqueline Bracamontes

Jacqueline Bracamontes van-Hoorde (born December 23, 1979 in Guadalajara, Mexico), is a Mexican actress, model, and former winner of Nuestra Belleza Mexico in 2000.

Jacqueline was born on December 23, 1979 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Jesus Bracamontes, the former coach of the popular Mexican football team Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara, and Jacqueline van-Hoorde. She is the oldest of three children and has two other siblings; a sister Alina, and a brother Jesus, Jr. Her father is currently a football analyst for the Hispanic-American television network Univision.

A Roman Catholic by conviction, she traveled to Connecticut, United States with the religious movement Legionary of Christ on a spiritual preparation. When she finished her undergraduate work, she traveled alone to France where she learned to speak French.

When she returned to Mexico, she began to model for some young fashion magazines, with the acceptance of her family, who supported her at all times, but not before finishing her degree in Communication Sciences . After seeing her in a cover, Lupita Jones, ex-Miss Universe and director of the contest Nuestra Belleza Mexico (Miss Mexico) contacted her, where she went on to win the state and national beauty titles and to represent Mexico in Miss Universe 2001, in Puerto Rico.

After being crowned Miss Mexico in 2000, Jacqueline decided to pursue a television career, something she always wanted to do since her youth. She begin her career hosting various award shows and special programs, including Acafest, Premios TVyNovelas, and Fiesta Mexicana.

A huge football fan, in August of 2002, she became host of a Mexican sports radio show on Vision AM, and later was invited by Univision to be a host and correspondent of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. She has also done reporting duties for Televisa Deportes (Televisa Sports).

In 2003, Jacqueline got her first full-time acting role in the Mexican soap opera Alegrijes y Rebujos, from producer Rosy Ocampo. Previously, she had only made brief appearances in other soaps. One year later, she landed a role in the popular soap Rubi, alongside Barbara Mori and Eduardo Santamarina.

In 2006, she landed her first starring role in the successful Mexican soap opera Heridas de Amor (Wounds of Love), alongside Argentine actor Guy Ecker. The soap opera was seen and enjoyed not only in Mexico, but also in various other countries.

In Spring of 2007, Jacqueline was cast in her first feature film, entitled Cuando Las Cosas Suceden (When Things Happen), playing the role of a nun named Lucia. Later that year, she briefly returned to hosting with the Mexican game show De Por Vida (For Life), but the show was quickly cancelled.

She currently stars in the comedic Mexican soap opera Las Tontas No Van al Cielo (Dumb Girls Don't Go to Heaven), alongside Jaime Camil.

Her mother is of Belgian descent.

Her former boyfriend, Mexican actor Valentino Lanus, also co-stars with her in Las Tontas No Van al Cielo.

Galilea Montijo

Galilea Montijo was born June 5, 1973 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She is a Mexican actress.

Montijo's career began when she won the contest La Chica TV in 1993. After that, she appeared in several telenovelas and shows.

In 2004, she was in the reality show Big Brother VIP and ended up winning. During this time she was the girlfriend of Mexican football star Cuauhtemoc Blanco. She also participated in the second season of Bailando por un Sueño (Dancing for a Dream).

In 2006, Montijo starred in the Mexican telenovela La Verdad Oculta, opposite Gabriel Soto.

In 2007, a video surfaced that featured a woman purported to be Montijo. Montijo repeatedly denied that she was the actress in the movie, assertions that proved correct when the actress in question was revealed as Latin star Monique Fuentes.
